South Temple Walking Tour
What: South Temple Architecture Self-Guided Walking Tour
When: Thurs., Oct. 7th, 2021; 5:30 – 7:00 p.m.
Where: cityhomeCOLLECTIVE – 645 E. South Temple, Salt Lake City 84102
Meet on the front lawn of the cityhomeCOLLECTIVE office at 5:30 for a brief tour orientation, and bring your smartphone to view descriptions and information via a provided link. From the Italian Renaissance-style Alta Club designed by Frederick Albert Hale (finished in 1898) to the iconically brutalist architecture of IBM Building No. 2 (at 420 E.), the blocks between 100 and 1300 E. South Temple showcase a vast design diversity of the city’s public and private spaces. Visit as many or as few as you have time for!
Please note: With the exception of event host cityhomeCOLLECTIVE’s office, please do not enter the featured buildings unless they have posted public access during the tour hours. Many are privately-owned or closed to the public outside of regular business hours, and we prioritize respect for the security, health, and safety of the buildings’ occupants.
Accessibility: Free parking is available in the lot north of the cityhomeCOLLECTIVE building (accessible via H Street). Wear comfortable footwear and be prepared for fall weather, which may change quickly. Access to the cityhomeCOLLECTIVE building for restrooms and parking will be available until 7 p.m.
Due to Covid-19 precautions, UCFA/AIA recommends that masks should be worn indoors and whenever social distancing outdoors is not possible.
